2018 key findings include:

1. As we now have four years of data, it is evident that there are two recurring themes emerging from different data sources over this period. These themes provide a deeper understanding of the nature and consequences of drug and alcohol use in Dublin 15. The first theme identifies drug and alcohol use as a community wide issue crossing all socio-economic boundaries, and the second is the normalisation of drug and alcohol use in Dublin 15.
2. From DATMS Year 1 to 4, treated drug users reported an increase in the use of alcohol, cannabis herb and cocaine powder.
3. Mapping treatment demand indicates a significant cohort of inter-generational drug and alcohol users.
4. Evidence of drug use during school hours in 9 out of 10 local secondary schools.
5. Easy access to drugs continues and is facilitated by an increase in the number of under 18s dealing.
6. Family members of drug users continue to report the negative impact drug and alcohol dependence has on the family.
7. Access to mental health services continues to be an issue.
