Dear Editor, Although traditional recreational drugs, such as heroin, cocaine and amphetamines are still prevalent in the UK, nitazenes should not be ignored. Nitazenes are very potent synthetic opioids1 2 3 and have been linked with heroin associated deaths due to adulterated heroin. 4 In the UK, nitazenes are being also used in combination with xylazine. Xylazine is a non-opioid veterinary anaesthetic and causes severe central nervous system (CNS) depression....
