The Northern Ireland Assembly All Party Group (APG) on Reducing Harm Related to Gambling has published an inquiry report on gaming machines in Northern Ireland. The issue of gaming machines (particularly so-called fixed-odds betting terminals, or FOBTs) and gambling harm was raised frequently during the APG’s previous inquiry into the future regulation of gambling in NI. It was therefore decided that the APG would undertake a short inquiry into the issue. The report is the outcome of this inquiry, which ran for four months and concluded in March 2022. During this period, the APG held four oral evidence sessions, and received written evidence from nine organisations.
