This evidence review forms part of the mid-term review of the Ten Year Tobacco Control Strategy for Northern Ireland (2012-2022) (Department of Health Social Services and Public Safety, 2012).
The Strategy goals are:
- Fewer people starting to smoke
- More smokers quitting
- Protecting people from tobacco smoke
The Strategy names three priority groups – children and young people, pregnant women and their partners who smoke and disadvantaged people who smoke. This report aims to shape the future delivery of the Strategy in line with certain review level evidence. Evidence is presented relating to existing approaches set out in the Strategy and its action plans, as well as on potential new approaches.
