One in six drivers have witnessed a friend get behind the wheel while under the influence of drugs, a new survey reveals, while 40 per cent have seen someone drink-and-drive.

However, 30 per cent think they can get away with motoring offences.

It’s the second in a two-part eFlow/Behaviour and Attitudes survey, which has polled a small sample of 521 drivers on driving habits.

A discrepancy in the figures show that while roughly 16 per cent say they have seen a friend drive after taking recreational drugs, just one in 20 admit to the offence.

The poll reveals that one third of motorists break the speed limit every week – and some want to go faster.
