A half-day in-person training programme on the Drug Related Intimidation & Violence (DRIVE) for Front Line Staff

Objectives

Upon completion of the training, participants will be able to
-Recognise and describe the prevalence and impact of DRIV in Ireland.
-Explain and summarise the DRIVE Project and its operation at the community level.Identify and outline the key features of the DRIRP.
-Locate and summarise free, safe, and confidential support services available for individuals impacted by DRIV in their locality.
-Demonstrate and apply the ability to hold a brief, supportive conversation with someone impacted by DRI, and direct them to appropriate support services confidentially

Content

The DRIVE Brief Advisors training will provide participants with knowledge to identify and signpost people that they suspect are experiencing drug related intimidation and violence, ensuing a compassionate and informed approach to supporting affected individuals and families.

Target Group

People who perform a role in the community whereby they meet, engage with or interact with other members of the community in supportive, advisory or helping capacities. These may include but are not limited to: Teachers, youth workers, sports coaches, general health care providers, community Gardaí, justice workers, homeless services etc.
