To give learners a more in-depth understanding of Personality Types and Disorders and how to determine them. The personality types covered will include for example, borderline, narcissistic, histrionic, obsessive, avoidant and anti-social.
Delivered by Kevin Fehin, this workshop will explore the developmental dynamics that give rise to each personality and the kinds of unconscious / conscious processes to sustain them. The workshop will focus on just what constitutes a personality problem in the first place and what distinguishes this from more normative self-identities.
Participants should have the tools to enable them to develop, build and expand their existing knowledge in relation to Personality Types and Disorders. Specifically:
Participants will be provided with the tools to differentiate personality disorders and the psychodynamics underpinning each one.
Participants will be provided with the tools to enable them to utilise appropriate interventions for each type.
Participants will be provided with the tools to enable them to construct therapeutic relationships tailored to the specific dynamics in each type.
Suitable for: Psychologists, Counsellors, Psychotherapists, Nurse Practitioners, Youth Workers, Social Care Workers
