This article reports of the prevalence of HIV, hepatitis B and hepatitis C among injecting drug users in Dublin. Surveillance of bloodborne viral infections in opiate users is arranged through attendance at treatment. Prevelance of these infections among attenders at needle exchange in Dublin fell during the 1990s.
