This report covers the remit of the SACDM which was to compile a set of practical recommendations based on the National Investigation into Drug-related Deaths, taking into account best practice from other regions and exploring the future role of GPs in identifying 'at risk' cases. This work produced 16 recommendations including recommendations in the area of response, treatment, awareness, responding to perceived barriers to service and improving existing services.
