This report highlights the achievements of the Merchant's Quay Project over the year 1998. The Crisis Contact Centre, Stabilisation Services and residential programmes all experienced a sharp rise in demand in 1998. A new client programme, the Women's Health Programme, was initiated. The Gateway programme was started as a loosely structured afternoon programme aimed at providing progression pathways toward mainstream stabilisation services for active drug users. At St Francis Farm a long-term, drug-free residential programme is available where the emphasis is on training and education within a therapeutic milieu.
