This report outlines the financial allocation for the Health Promotion, Mental Health, Addiction and Social Development programme in 1998. The mission statement is drafted in relation to AIDS/ Drugs is highlighted and targets five core areas: education and prevention; harm minimisation; treatment programmes; aftercare and rehabilitation; and evaluation of the various service responses. An impact statement on 1997 targets is also included. On of the Board's objectives in 1997 was to eliminate waiting lists for methadone treatment. In 1996 the numbers on the waiting list was 560. The numbers on the waiting lists in 1997 was 385. Priorities for 1998 were given to provide additional addiction centres and satellite clinics to areas not currently serviced.
