There are three main sections to this action plan, following the guidelines set out by the National Drugs Strategy Team for the updating of plans. These are: a review of progress in implementing the existing plan; development of a revised strategy; and, development of specific proposals to give effect to the revised strategy

Overall the Task Force believes that the implementation of the first plan has been a success over the past 3 years and the results can be seen in the community on a daily basis. It now wishes to consolidate and build on this success and through this strategy and believes it can help bring about a large reduction in drug abuse in Ballymun in the future.
