Report Card 2026 is the first to be published for the coalition (Fianna Fáil, Fine Gael and Independents) under the new Programme for Government: Securing Ireland’s Future and how it performed for children and young people in 2025. This year’s Report Card is the eighteenth edition in the series for the Children’s Rights Alliance and covers key areas which, if implemented, will address major systemic issues for children and young people: Safeguarding, Welfare and Alternative Care; Early Years; Mental Health; Housing and Education. As with previous editions, our independent panel of experts have closely examined the promises made to children and young people and have graded the Government on its efforts to fulfil these commitments.
