790. Deputy John Connolly asked the Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science the funding his Department has allocated to drug addiction prevention initiatives for each of the years 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025, in tabular form. [73686/25]

Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science: The table below reflects overall funding allocated to mental health in Higher Education, for the years that the Deputy requested:

Year

Total

2020

€5m

2021

€5m

2022

€5.9m

2023

€5m

2024

€6m

2025

€5m

The funding provided is for mental health and wellbeing in Higher Education Institutions and the allocation of funding is a matter for the HEIs, however some HEIs have directed this funding to support drug addition prevention initiatives. The table below highlights the funding allocated by SOLAS to Community Education for drug addiction prevention initiatives for the period 2020 to 2025 in Further Education:

Year

Total

2020

€255,171

2021

€414,945

2022

€292,781

2023

€519,392

2024

€801,676

2025

€224,793

I trust this clarifies the matter for the Deputy.
