We recently spoke to Sheila Gilheany, CEO of Alcohol Action Ireland, about Ireland's experience of restrictions on alcohol marketing and learning for Scotland. Alcohol consumption has fallen significantly in Ireland since they adopted a comprehensive set of policies on to reduce alcohol harm.
Following the publication of Public Health Scotland's Rapid Review of Evidence on Alcohol Marketing and Advertising, which recommended comprehensive restrictions as most effective - Sheila echoes that point and explains some of the difficulties of implementing effective partial restrictions.
