Established in 2013, the North South Alcohol Policy Advisory Group (NSAPAG) was created following a meeting between the Chief Medical Officers of Ireland and Northern Ireland to foster cooperation, strengthen policy frameworks, and reduce alcohol-related harm on the island of Ireland.

The new 10-year report highlights the NSAPAG’s achievements and celebrates the value of North-South cooperation in facing shared and sustained challenges.

The NSAPAG was set up to provide a forum for discussion on alcohol issues, strengthen all-island alcohol initiatives to maximise impact, explore opportunities for North-South cooperation on alcohol policy, identify policy solutions to improve legislative and regulatory arrangements, share evidence and research to inform decision-making and develop pathways for improved policymaking and action.
