[UNODC] UNODC: CND decision on international control of four nitazenes enters into force. (13 Jun 2025)

The decisions adopted by the Commission on Narcotic Drugs (CND) during its 68th regular session from 10 to 14 March 2025 to add N-pyrrolidino protonitazene (protonitazepyne), N-pyrrolidino metonitazene (metonitazepyne), etonitazepipne (N-piperidinyl etonitazene) and N-desethyl isotonitazene (norisotonitazene) to Schedule I of the Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs of 1961, as amended by the 1972 Protocol, was communicated by the Secretary-General on 9 June 2024 to all Members States and thereby entered into force on the date of receipt of the notification.
The UNODC Early Warning Advisory on New Psychoactive Substances recently recorded it’s 30th unique nitazene report, with ten of these nitazenes having been placed under international control since 2021.
The decisions adopted by the CND to add hexahydrocannabinol (HHC) to Schedule II and carisoprodol to Schedule IV of the Convention on Psychotropic Substances of 1971 will come into force on 6 December 2025.
