A HIV treatment audit was carried out in 2023 and related to attendance at HIV treatment centres in Ireland in 2022. This was undertaken to understand how individuals attending HIV treatment services in Ireland are doing overall and in different age groups and subpopulations, against the national antiretroviral therapy (ART) recommendation and to measure progress towards targets set by the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) (1, 2).  Given the changes that have happened globally since the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, there was also a strong desire to determine if Ireland was meeting the needs of those who had been displaced.
