Maggie, Rob and Scott bring you our Podcast - "FASD - What's da Craic?", released on The A&F Podcast Network. As we record Season 1 (six episodes) we will be interviewing those who live with FASD in Ireland, as well as some of the professionals who work behind the scenes in various organisations related to FASD. Expect some serious lived experiences to be shared, but also lighthearted discussion between the Hosts and the Guests.

Episode 6 of FASD – What’s da Craic? With Maggie, Rob, Scott and special guest Tristan
In our final episode or our first Series of “FASD – What’s Da Craic?” Maggie, Rob and Scott are joined by FASD Ireland Founder and Chief Executive Officer – Tristan. As a team of 4 we have all had quite the year, not just with the inaugural series of the podcast, but with us all being involved in a range or events, workshops, political events to name a few. We each review our favourite episodes of the series, and how it has lifted the lid on accessibility to information on FASD in Ireland. We also discuss what we would like to see happening in 2024 – relating to FASD and FASD Ireland.

Episode 5 of FASD - What’s da Craic? Foster Carer Frank 
In this episode Scott had a chat with Frank who is a foster carer and parent Frank and his wife adopted in the early 90’s in Scotland and since then have returned to Donegal to live. Frank shares his family story of living with FASD, how they became aware of it, how they were supported, as well as how it impacted everyone in the longer term with the sad passing of his son 4 years ago from suicide. Frank's story is an insightful and emotional listen, and we want to thank him publicly for sharing so much. Scott and Rob also have a quick catch up and start thinking about our 6th and final episode in this series, where we will have a review of the year with our special guest, FASD Ireland’s own CEO - Tristan.

Episode 4 of ‘FASD - What’s da Craic?’ with Maggie, Rob and Scott
In this episode Maggie and Scott have a have a great catch up, discussing birthdays and family additions, they also review the recent research carried out by Dr Katy Tobin, Dr Elizabeth McCarthy and Ms Anna Marie Paanoven all from Trinity College Dublin. The report was released at the end of September, and we look at some of the statistics that caught our eye. This report is the first of its kind for Ireland - with respondents from both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. 

Episode 3 FASD – What’s da Craic with Maggie and Scott. 
September marks World FASD Awareness Month, with a whole day dedicated to FASD Awareness Day on 9th September. In this episode Maggie and Scott reflect on the day – around Ireland, as well as globally. We reflect on social media posts, buildings being lit up red, the remarkable increase in Ireland of those willing to raise awareness for the FASD Community and more. It was certainly a very busy day, and we now consider what we will be doing this time next year.

Episode 2 FASD – What’s da Craic EP 2 - Interview with Jacob Casson-Rennie Living with FASD 
In this episode Maggie and Rob have a chat with Scott’s son Jacob about living with FASD. They discuss a range of experiences including sensory issues, school, pain thresholds, driving theory and the conversation soon digresses into a more general conversation about sport and the future, with a lengthy conversation about Rugby. It included some terminology that those interested in rugby will know, however, those who may not will definitely gain an insight from someone living with FASD taking part in sport and other activities. Rob identifies some of the areas in Jacob and Maggie’s life that he has recognised as different to his own experiences, including specific hobbies and tasks that become obsessions in life, and Maggie hears more than she bargained for about sport! For those who may not be familiar with some of the terms used: Banjaxed – meaning ruined, incapacitated or broken; SNA – Special Needs Assistant (in School).

Episode 1 FASD – What’s da Craic? Ep 1 - Introduction 
This is Episode 1 of our first series from FASD Ireland and hosted by the A&F Network. Do you know what “What’s da Craic?” means, we hope it is obvious…. but Craic is a term or greeting used to describe a good time, a fun experience, or a friendly conversation and is commonly used in Irish slang. In this episode you will get to know Maggie, Rob and Scott a little more, including their interest in hosting an FASD podcast, as they introduce themselves. As well as getting to know them they also discuss Peer Support, working when you live with FASD, Parenting Triggers and Irish voices.
