Deputy Róisín Shortall asked the Minister for Health the meetings held by his officials from assistant principal level up with representatives of the alcohol industry in 2020, 2021, 2022 and to date in 2023; the dates, attendees and matters that were discussed at each meeting; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [53743/23]

 

Stephen Donnelly, Minister for Health:  The only relevant meeting identified occurred on 12 May 2022. That meeting was held by the Food and Environmental Health Unit of my Department, assisted by the Food Safety Authority of Ireland, and was an event to gather stakeholders’ views on the EU Commission’s proposed revision of the Food Information to Consumers (FIC) Regulation (Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011). Industry Groups represented included Food Drink Ireland, Drinks Ireland and the Irish Distillers Association. In accordance with GDPR guidelines, personal details of individual attendees at this event have not been retained on file.
