This report on the Children and Young People’s Indicator Set — Outcome “Active and Healthy”: An International Comparison is the eleventh report in the Statistical Spotlights series. These Spotlight publications are focused on a specific topic, and gather available statistical data to highlight trends or patterns. The Spotlight collates available data from the Children and Young People’s indicator set outcome “Active and Healthy” and gives an international comparison. The spotlight report shines a light on and collates a wide source of information on how children in Ireland are faring in terms of activity levels and health.

The data is drawn from a variety of sources, including the World Health Organisation (WHO), Eurostat, the Health Behaviour in School-aged Children (HBSC) survey, the European School Survey Project on Alcohol and Other Drugs (ESPAD), the European Health Interview Survey (EHIS), and the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC).
