This is the third annual report from the data co-ordinator of the South Eastern Health Board. It provides a brief outline of data collected for the year 2002. The report refers to persons who attended treatment for alcohol or drug misuse in the South Eastern Health Board and is based on information supplied by the respective treatment services. Alcohol is still the drug that most treatment is sought. In total 2,096 people received treatment in the SEHB, an increase of 9% on the last year. Of this 58% had never previously been treated for alcohol or drug misuse. Those in the age bracket of 20-29 years old continue to have the highest numbers attending treatment services.
