The number of babies born with drug or alcohol addictions rose to 102 in 2020 as the country battled Covid-19 – reversing earlier progress in tackling the problem. Figures from the HSE show as many as 146 babies were born addicted because of their mother’s use of drugs or alcohol in 2011 but this had since fallen to a low of 96 in 2019....
