According to figures from the Irish Courts Service, between 2014 and 2018 just 44 convictions were secured out a total of 225 court summonses made under section one of the Intoxicating Liquor Act.
These figures, released to Extra.ie through Freedom of Information, include summonses for the sale of alcohol to minors, selling alcohol and allowing it to be consumed on a premises by a minor or supplying alcohol to minors...….
