The annual report of the Health Products Regulatory Authority (HPRA) details the extensive work programme undertaken by the national regulator during 2015 to deliver on its role to protect public and animal health.

This includes, for example, inspection, often in conjunction with the Garda National Drugs Unit, of manufacturers and wholesalers of medicines containing controlled drugs (CD) and of precursors (chemicals that can be used in the preparation of illicit drugs).
