138. Deputy Terence Flanagan asked the Taoiseach if he will report on meetings he held with tobacco industry representatives during his St. Patrick's Day mission to the United States; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17447/14]  

The Taoiseach:  During my recent visit to the United States for St. Patrick's Day, I did not have any meetings with tobacco industry representatives. I did meet with business representative groups such as the Irish Chamber of Commerce USA and the US Chamber of Commerce, but tobacco-related issues did not feature in our discussions. The main focus of our engagement was in relation to Ireland's economic recovery and ongoing negotiations on a Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership.
