The social portrait of people of communities is the fourth in a series that was commissioned by the Office for Social Inclusion from the Economic and Social Research Institute. The portrait provides a statistical description and analysis of communities in Ireland today and considers the situation of specific vulnerable groups such as people living in areas of urban and rural disadvantage, migrants and ethnic minorities, Travellers and the homeless. It is designed to be read by a wide audience, including members of the general public.
