Head of the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Karen Tandy told an international narcotics conference in Canada that global users of methamphetamine outnumbered cocaine and heroin users combined.
Delegates at the 24th International Drug Enforcement Conference in Montreal were told that synthetic drugs such as ecstasy and methamphetamine were becoming a global phenomenon. Ms Tandy told the
conference that more than 26 million people worldwide used amphetamines - in most cases methamphetamines.
