This is the first detailed study of the sexual health attitudes and behaviour of early school leavers to be conducted in an Irish context. The research is qualitative and comprises a mix of individual in-depth interviews and focus group discussions. The study findings provide a wealth of information on the following: romantic relationships, sexual behaviour and sexual relationships, contraceptive behaviour and safe sex practices and knowledge and sources of knowledge about sexual health. The study also makes extensive recommendations for policy, education and service provision.
