This study examines the characteristics of homicides occurring in Ireland during the five year period 1 January 1992 to 31 December 1996. The data builds on that which was presented in a previous similar study1 covering the twenty year period prior to that covered in the present study. To facilitate overall comparison a number of tables and figures will amalgamate data from the previous study with that outlined here to present a twenty-five year cohort.
