The Mid-Western Health Board have developed a number of services in relation to substance use in the Mid-West Region over the past few years. This report briefly describes the following facets of these services: primary care drug assessment unit; drugs outreach work; drug and alcohol helpline; adolescent counselling service; and, community counselling services. A breakdown of the various client groups in terms of age, gender and type of treatment sought is provided for each service.
