The Cork Local Drugs Task Force has undergone considerable development since its formation. This publication is the second Cork Local Drugs Task Force plan. This plan develops on the strategies implemented in the original Drugs Task Force Plan and responds to the gaps identified in the existing service provision. The Task Force will adopt a 'harm reduction' and 'abstinence based' approach to the drugs problem. The Task Force believes its brief should be extended to Cork City and beyond, and plans to be more pro-active and develop an advocacy role on issues of concern. The plan also outlines current and planned service provision and assesses whether they meet current or anticipated needs.
