Letter to the Editor

This paper outlines the threat posed by gambling in Ireland and proposes a range of policy responses. Drawing on established tobacco and alcohol control measures, it argues for restrictions on advertising and point-of-sale (PoS) marketing, mandatory warnings, plain packaging, improved enforcement, raising the minimum gambling age to 21, increasing minimum spend requirements, introducing temporal limits on gambling, increasing gambling taxes, and introducing a retailer licence fee for National Lottery sales.
