Beginning in 2019, the annual poll aims to measure public awareness and attitudes towards human rights and equality issues, including IHREC’s work and key strategic priorities and themes under our mandates. Cross-sectional survey design administered to 1200+ persons aged 18+, statistically representative of Ireland’s population in respect to age, gender, social class, and geographic region, with the unit of analysis being the individual respondent. In addition to these demographic questions, each poll to date has included 20-30 questions. The data is now collected via online questionnaire which this year was administered by Ipsos B&A. 2026 data was collected between the 12th and 24th of May and has a margin of error of +/- 2.8% at its highest point.
