  1. Deputy Paul Lawless asked the Minister for Justice, Home Affairs and Migration the number of persons prosecuted for drug driving last year, and if a county by county breakdown can be provided on the figure. [42015/26]

Jim O'Callaghan, Minister for Justice, Home Affairs and Migration: The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) is wholly independent under the Prosecution of Offences Act, 1974. As the Office of the DPP is not a body under my remit I have no role in the operations, functions, oversight or governance of the Office of the Director. As such I am unable to provide any information or statistics on the number of prosecutions initiated for drug driving. The Deputy may wish to note that members of the Houses of the Oireachtas may contact the Office of the DPP for information through media.liaison@dppireland.ie

I am advised by the Garda authorities that the table below provides a breakdown by Garda Division, as of 29 May 2026, of the number of arrests for Drug Driving in 2025 which had status of detected or which resulted in court proceedings.
