This study was possible thanks to the informed and voluntary participation of 94 fathers who, in 11 different countries, participated in individual or collective interviews. Their voice is the pillar and the purpose of this work. The interviews were carried out by people working in treatment and harm reduction services as well as in prison, in the case of Croatia, or by professionals working in the field of addictions and families. The fathers who agreed to give an interview did so after receiving an in-depth explanation regarding the content of the interview and the purpose of this study and, lastly, signing a consent form. They are all fathers and most of them have children under the age of 18 years old. They invite us to look where we usually assume that there is not much to be seen: the intersection between masculinities, parenting and substance use.
