Jennifer Murnane O'Connor, Minister of State at the Department of Health: In Budget 2025 €.5m in additional funding was secured, rising to €.79m in 2026 for drug prevention programmes and public health awareness campaigns to be developed across the health regions and screening and brief interventions to be scaled up.
€203,000 was transferred to the HSE in 2025 to fund drug prevention programmes and enable public health awareness campaigns to be developed across the health regions.
