  1. Deputy Mark Wall asked the Minister for Health to outline the work being conducted by her Department on a national policy on the administration of medical cannabis and other medicines which are not licensed for use in Ireland, following the recommendations of an inquest (details supplied); and if she will make a statement on the matter. [55416/25]

Jennifer Carroll MacNeill, Minister for Health: Regulation 7 of the Misuse of Drugs Regulations 2017 (Statutory Instrument 173/2017) provides the statutory guidelines for the administration of controlled drugs to patients and only applies to those controlled drugs with a marketing authorisation as a medicine.

Departmental officials continue to consider the matter of the administration of controlled drugs which are not medicines with a marketing authorisation and are not, at this time, in a position to indicate a timeline on the conclusion or outcome of these considerations.
