This report presents the findings of a survey from the Department of Health’s public consultation on the development of Ireland’s new suicide reduction strategy. It follows the country’s second National Suicide Prevention Strategy, Connecting for Life (2015–2024), which succeeded Reach Out (2005–2014), Ireland’s inaugural suicide prevention strategy. In total, 1,895 individuals responded to the online survey. The majority of those that responded to the survey reported lived experience of suicide (82%), most commonly being bereaved or impacted by suicide (68%). Respondents represented all 26 counties in the Republic of Ireland. Individuals responding on behalf of an organisation represented 17% of responses, with the majority representing community, voluntary and advocacy sectors.
