This important piece of work highlights the trends, client profile, and outcomes we observed in 2024. Coolmine prides itself on its evidence-based approach to recovery. We do this through meticulous research and data collection that allows us to best tailor our services to where they are needed most and ensure that nobody is left behind.

In 2024 we supported 3,293 individuals- 35% increase from 2022. Key highlights include:

Equity & Access
– 11% rise in women seeking support- our efforts to remove barriers for women entering treatment are working
– Targeted initiatives (in collaboration with HSE) are making recovery accessible and driving high engagement & retention rates across Dual Diagnosis, Homeless and Traveller Women’s services

Families & Children
– 52 children admitted with their mothers in 2024 to residential treatment & recovery.
– 21% increase in children entering women’s residential services since 2022—a stark reminder of the urgent need for family support.
– 365 parents (28% increase) benefited from our Parents Under Pressure programme, reinforcing the power of a whole-family approach.

Key Outcomes
– Clients engaging with Coolmine services demonstrate high abstinence rates and strong retention across all programmes
– Example: 200 adults received residential treatment/74% retention across residential services
– Significant improvements in physical health, resilience, employment, housing & financial well-being evidencing strong recovery outcomes
– High Quality of Life & Recovery Capital outcomes during and post treatment
– 40% increase in clients internal & external resources to sustain long term recovery
– 52 children provided with an environment to heal, grow, and thrive through a dedicated child keyworker & care plan

In summary, this report demonstrates the effectiveness of sustained recovery planning and support - the cornerstone of Coolmine’s work. It also provides us with a key area for improvement including sustained mental health wellbeing supports post treatment.
