707. Deputy Niamh Smyth asked the Minister for Justice when he plans to update the liquor licensing laws. [16899/25]

747. Deputy Barry Heneghan asked the Minister for Justice when he intends to publish the second Bill arising from the General Scheme of the Sale of Alcohol Bill 2022, specifically dealing with the regulation of distance selling of alcohol; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17646/25]

Jim O'Callaghan, Minister for Justice: I propose to take Questions Nos. 707 and 747 together.

The publication of the Spring Legislative Programme, on 18 February, set out the 21 Bills that have been prioritised for publication, and 29 Bills for drafting, in the current Dáil session. It is important to note that the Spring Legislative Programme is the first legislative programme set by the new Government, with further commitments in the programme for Government to be prioritised in subsequent programmes. The Programme for Government commits to updating our licensing laws and in keeping with that commitment, the legislation will be advanced in due course.
