When it comes to drug crop cultivation and economic development, women and men play different roles, have different responsibilities and opportunities, and face different challenges. While all genders are affected by the difficulties in drug crop cultivation areas, such as insecurity, stigma, forced displacement, limited public services and lack of infrastructure, women often suffer more from their impacts.
This practical guide has been developed in the framework of the online training “Addressing Gender in Alternative Development Projects”, which is part of the activities carried out under the “Alternative Development” subcomponent of the third phase of the COPOLAD program by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
The guide summarizes the main content of the online training modules offered by COPOLAD III and is now open to the public and provides practical guiding questions and graphics.
