The Alcohol and Drug Foundation (ADF) conducted a survey of 3,604 Australians, aged 18 and over, to understand key barriers to help seeking behaviour for people who were using alcohol and other drugs (AOD) at risky levels. AOD use was assessed using the Alcohol, Smoking and Substance Involvement Screening Test – Lite (ASSISTLite), with moderate or high scores classified as ‘risky AOD use’. Findings identified the key barriers and opportunities to early help seeking behaviour for people with risky AOD use.
