The Mental Health Commission (MHC) is an independent statutory body established under the provisions of the Mental Health Act 2001. The remit of the MHC incorporates the broad spectrum of mental health services for all ages in all settings. In addition, under the provisions of the Assisted Decision Making (Capacity) Act 2015, the MHC is responsible for establishing the Decision Support Service to support decision making by and for adults with capacity difficulties.
