National Cancer Registry Ireland. (2022) National Cancer Registry Ireland: data & statistics.

External website: https://www.ncri.ie/data

Information on every new case of cancer diagnosed in the Republic of Ireland is collected by trained nurses and maintained in a central register to provide a national cancer dataset on the incidence of cancer in Ireland. This data is subject to rigorous quality assurance, including external checks developed by the International Association for Research on Cancer, ensuring that our data conforms to the highest international standards in cancer registration. Datasets are produced routinely for annual incidence reports, specific research projects, for service planning and evaluation and other general enquires.

You can generate tables and graphs of cancer incidence rates online. Use the search fields in the form above to choose the relevant rates. You can navigate different types of analysis by using the tabbed interface above the search form. The first tab shows incidence by sex and year. You can view incidence by region and incidence by age on the other tabs. For the latest general estimates of incidence, mortality and prevalence by cancer and sex, please view the cancer factsheets for Ireland (link is external) in the European Cancer Information System (link is external) website.
