The Youth Justice System in Ireland: A Review (Revised 2022) reviewed academic literature and published governmental material in order to trace the development of the Irish State's response to youth crime and present an analysis of current policies and priorities. The review concluded that the Irish system is child welfare/justice oriented with a strong community-based approach. Irish youth justice policy supports the implementation of comprehensive integrated strategies and responses required to prevent youth crime and offending.
