691. Deputy Gino Kenny asked the Minister for Health the status of the clinical review of the Medical Cannabis Access Programme; when the review will commence; the length of time that it will take to conclude; when the report will be made public; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [48465/22]

Stephen Donnelly Minister for Health: The Department has commissioned an evidence review to assess scientific research on the efficacy and safety of cannabis-based treatments for a range of conditions.

The initial stage of the review has been completed which is soon to be followed by an evidence synthesis.

Once completed a clinical group will be convened to assess this evidence and provide guidance on any amendments to the list of conditions included in the MCAP.

This is expected early in the new year.
