In this editorial, daily cannabis use is presented as one example, meant to reflect behavioral health issues broadly. Public Service Announcements informing the public that common problems (e.g., daily cannabis use, depression) may interfere with efforts to quit smoking—providing people with that evidence—seems like a reasonable first step. Widespread dissemination of this type may create inroads for change by reaching both adults who are currently smoking, and those who are not yet smoking, by providing the public with a fuller awareness of the myriad risks associated with cigarette use.
