See Change, established in 2010, is a national partnership working to change minds about mental health problems in Ireland. The partnership is made up of over 100 organisations and 60 ambassadors who work to create a community driven social movement to reduce the stigma and discrimination associated with mental health problems. Our vision is an Ireland where every person can be open and positive about their own and others mental health. People with mental health conditions are challenged in dealing with the symptoms that result from the condition but are also challenged by the prejudice and stereotypes that result from misconception and misunderstanding about mental health. But what is mental health stigma and why is it a central experience for people who have mental health conditions and their family members?
