Compared with no antismoking campaign for young people (up to 25 years of age), evidence for use of mass media antismoking campaigns is inconsistent across studies and is of very low certainty. In addition, studies were published between 1983 and 2015, with seven conducted in the USA and one in Norway, making applicability and generalizability to young people with access to social media and other electronic platforms uncertain.
